Installation Services – Power & Lighting

Working alongside our mechanical installation and design team, DCI provides a cohesive single point of contact for Electromechanical Installation works. In addition, our electrical installation department is also a standalone service and can provide electrical-only installation works.

Using careful and considered design, we ensure a safe, secure and cost effective installation and are long-term members of both the ECA & NIC EIC. Clients can rest safe in the knowledge that DCI’s electrical installations are tested and comply with the latest edition of British Standard BS7671 “Requirements for Electrical Installations. IET Wiring Regulations.”

Service & Maintenance

Electrical faults can occur at any time and there is no convenient moment to suffer a partial or full power failure. At DCI we have a team of reactive electrical service & maintenance engineers providing the emergency back-up you require. A simple phone call will mobilise us to attend site, rectify the issue and overcome the emergency to get you up and running with minimal disruption.
Once normal service is restored we will help to assess the cause and work with you to prevent a future re-occurrence.

So with one call you can solve any electrical problem and have peace of mind for the future.

Health & Safety

DCI’s engineers and staff are all trained to the latest required standards and we are often praised for our thorough and comprehensive approach to Health and Safety. We can extend this knowledge and experience to help clients navigate their own Health & Safety requirements and responsibilities.

Electrical Health & Safety is governed by the following Acts, Regulations and Standards.
• Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974
• The Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999
• Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
• British Standard BS7671 “Requirements for Electrical Installations. IET Wiring Regulations.”

DCI can assist with keeping you electrically compliant through the following available services.

Electrical Installation Condition Reporting – EICR

(Electrical Installation Condition Reporting was formerly known as Periodic Test and Inspection)

For most common commercial electrical installation types a maximum period of 5 years between complete inspections and testing is advised to ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements. However, advised EICR frequency can vary according to installation type and use.

At DCI, we pride ourselves on our ability to provide our clients with an efficient test and inspection process that ensures full compliance. Our focus is the safety and function of our clients’ electrical systems and equipment within their premises. As part of the testing and inspection process we provide a prioritised and costed remedial action plan for any works required to repair or correct dangerous or non-compliance issues.
Once 100% of your installation is tested, inspected and recorded into our systems we will work with you to create a schedule to ensure you remain compliant going forward.

Portable Appliance Testing – PAT Testing

As part of our services to ensure you remain compliant with the relevant Health & Safety Acts, Regulations and Standards we also offer portable appliance testing (PAT).

We are able to combine portable appliance testing as part of a scheduled electrical maintenance works package that combines all of the required records and maintenance measures into a single costed solution.
If required we can also offer PAT Testing as a standalone Solution.

Emergency Lighting Maintenance

As part of our scheduled service package we can also offer to ensure your emergency lighting installation is tested, recorded and reported in accordance with the requirements of British Standard BS 5266.
This will again ensure you remain compliant with the relevant Health & Safety requirements.

Emergency lighting maintenance can also be provided as a standalone solution.

Electrical Thermographic Surveys

As part of the EICR process we can also offer electrical thermographic surveys.  This provides a thermal report on all major parts of your electrical installation using our FLIR infrared camera. Such a non-invasive survey can help to quickly identify urgent ‘hot spot’ issues that can arise from loose connections or overloaded circuit equipment within an installation. Prevention is far better than cure in such circumstances and preventative action costs far less than remedial work.

Thermographic surveys are also available as a standalone option should you require.

Power Analysis Reporting

As part of the EICR process we offer power analysis reporting on all or parts of your electrical installation.

This survey can help assess the quality of your supplied power from your District Network Operator and establish that you are using your electrical installation in the most efficient and cost effective way.

Power analysis reporting is also available as a standalone service.
